Ms. Brooke Black
This is my first year as an educator. I am so excited to begin this school year at Coal Mountain Elementary being a Kindergarten teacher. Some of my hobbies are to go hiking, I enjoy working out with my friends, I also enjoy playing with my dog.
Mrs. Carrie Hays
I am so excited for another year in Kindergarten! I hold a Bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of Florida as well as a Masters in Education with a focus on Elementary Math and Science along with a Gifted Endorsement. I have been teaching since 2003 with experience in grades K,2,3,4,6,7 in Florida, Michigan, and Georgia. When not in the classroom, I love spending time with my family: Husband-Andy, Samantha-8th grade, Benjamin-6th grade, Christopher-5th grade. We love family adventures camping, traveling, or riding on Jeep trails.
Ms. Marina Nix
My name is Marina Nix, and I am so ecstatic to be teaching Kindergarten on the Mountain! This upcoming school year will be my ninth-year teaching. Prior to joining the Mountain, I taught fourth grade at Mashburn Elementary for five years. Additionally, I have three years of experience teaching third grade. I hold a bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, a master’s in Elementary Education and in 2020, I obtained my Specialist Degree in Elementary Education. Some of my hobbies include running, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with my family! My husband, Jake, and I have been married for five years. Our son, J.C. , is three years old and loves to spend time with animals, at the park, or reading books. I look forward to growing with you this school year!
Ms. Kaitlyn Strouth
My name is Kaitlyn Strouth, and I'm so excited to be teaching kindergarten at Coal Mountain this year! I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary/ Special Education General Curriculum from Mercer University as well as a Reading Endorsement. Some things I enjoy doing in my free time include craft projects, spending time outdoors, and spending time with my friends, family, and dog. I can't wait for the memories and accomplishments we will make this school year on the mountain!
Ms. Amy Tinsley
My name is Amy Tinsley and I'm excited to begin another year teaching kindergarten on the Mountain! I have been an educator since 2010, with experience in kindergarten and first grade. When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my daughters. We love exploring North Georgia, especially outdoors. I am looking forward to spending this exciting milestone year with your sweet kinder!
