It is an honor to serve as principal of this incredible school and be a part of the Coal Mountain and North United community. At Coal Mountain Elementary, we believe every child deserves to feel connected, challenged, supported, and inspired each day. Our dedicated Teachers and staff works together to create a positive learning environment where students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while developing the confidence and skills needed for future success.

Throughout my career in education, I have had the privilege of serving students and families in a variety of roles, including classroom teacher, instructional coach, technology specialist, assistant principal, and principal. These experiences have reinforced my belief that strong relationships, high expectations, and a commitment to continuous growth are the foundation of a thriving school community.

One of the things I love most about Coal Mountain is the strong partnership between our staff, families, and community. Together, we create meaningful opportunities for students to learn, lead, and shine. I am grateful to be part of a school where people genuinely care for one another and work collaboratively to ensure every student is successful.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Erik, and our two sons, Jackson and Nathaniel. Whether we are cheering from the sidelines at a soccer game, exploring the outdoors with our dog Rosie, or taking a family road trip, I treasure opportunities to make memories together.

Mrs. Stacy Hunsinger- Assistant Principal

I am honored to begin my third year as Assistant Principal at Coal Mountain Elementary! With 18 years of experience in education, I am passionate about fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for all students. I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, as well as certifications in Special Education and Educational Leadership. Throughout my career, I have served in a variety of instructional and leadership roles, including 2nd and 4th grade classroom teacher, Interrelated Resource teacher, Special Education Department Chair, and Quality Work Facilitator. Prior to joining the Coal Mountain community, I taught in Gwinnett County Schools and have spent the past eight years proudly serving in Forsyth County Schools. I am the proud mother of three boys—Logan, Brock, and Phoenix. Both Brock and Phoenix will be continuing their journeys here as Miners, and our entire family is excited to be a part of such a vibrant and connected community. In my free time, I enjoy camping, hiking, reading, yoga, and cooking. I am truly looking forward to another incredible year on The Mountain and to partnering with families, students, and staff to make this school year the best one yet!

Mrs. Elizabeth Hickey- Assistant Principal

I am so excited to begin this year at Coal Mountain as an assistant principal! This is my 11th year as an educator in Forsyth County. I have previously worked at Whitlow Elementary, Brookwood Elementary, and Kelly Mill Elementary, serving as a 3rd and 5th grade teacher, MTSS Coordinator, and Assistant Administrator. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary of Education and a minor in Spanish from Clemson University (Go Tigers!). I also have my Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning from Clemson University, a gifted endorsement, Tier I Leadership Certification from Kennesaw State University, and a Specialist Degree from West Georgia.

Outside of work, I enjoy watching sports, traveling, and spending time with my husband, Andrew, our daughter, Anderson, and our dog, Magnolia. Come find me when you want to discuss college football! I look forward to learning and growing with our students, families, and teachers each day!
